christmas traditions and food

We are learning about Christmas traditions around. Yesterday I learned the in Poland the polish people call Christmas eve the 'festival of the star'. Often they \don't eat anything until it gets dark and the first star appears then they start to have a feast. One place at the table is left for the Christ child. The boys in the family dress up as wise men and bring presents for all the family members. Can you tell me about some other Christmas traditions from around the world? what do you do?

The goblin and the kitten

For our learning journey we did activity 1,2 and bonus so activity 2 did work for activity 1 we had to write a little story about if you lost your crew and you need to have no more then ten sentices.

The best learning journey day 4

We are learning about New Zeland we looked at golden bay in golden bay we looked at farewell spit first we went to were the beached whales are and we  had to say how the people tried to help. Then the next activity  didn´t work so we went on to the bonus activity. The bonus activity was we had to say if people should fish in farewell spit because of the rare hector dolphin.

This week in literacy we have been learning more about other places around Christchurch and New Zealand. So first we look at some ideas of Islington bay then I had listens to the words with read write it app then I put some of the ideas down in my own words.Then I looked at another sit about the best place to go would be Karekare beach in Auckland Then I listend to that to then did the same like I did with Islington bay write it down in my own words.Then I watched a video about a girl named Laura that had made it around the hole world on a boat and that really inspired me because it gave me ideas and questions to ask her.Then there came the bonus question you had to get a buddy to ask them questions what they like to do outdoors or indoors.

for digi awards a group set up a ¨make their day shop¨. I could an ice block and instead of paying with money I paid with a kind act to make someone´s day. I chosse help someone that is hurt to pay for my ice block.

This term we have been learning about weather. In art I created a stormy night picture. First my group did the dye for the background.  Then we  did the silhouette for were the lightning goes. Then i did the big black cloud. Then I did glue for my silhouette. Finley i did my lightning.

In literacy I am learning about Antarctica. I went to the antarctic center for a tripe.I researched all about Antarctica.  I wrote a description about Antarctica. I used the right structure of a description. It has a introduction, Characteristics, and an evaluation.

Antarctica is 1 of 7 continent. It is the coldest desert and you are wondering how is it a desert it is because it never rains there.Antarctica is twice the size of Australia.In winter it doubles in size because of the sea ice.The shape of Antarctica looks like a rhino. The snow is 2500 meters!!!! [2.5 km] deep!!!!!!!! There is no permitted of people to live there. on Antarctica there is most of our fresh water.A long time ago Antarctica was in the mid earth.at winter it is 24 hours darkness.Antarctica is a beautiful place and I would love to go there if that would ever happen.

Krill are important you must be thinking how it is so important. It is important because if they are not there the other animals would not survive.because the animals that they eat would not eat and then they would not be there.

Krill eat Plankton.

Krill are cool and important to the food cycle because if not there then the other animals would not survive.
