Today we have to read a book that is in our level some people have 2 levels that they can work at I am one of the

people that can do that it is only green and yellow that can blue is to high up that they would be reading to easy stuff.

Today we have to make a haiku about a story that we watched. If you don't know what a haiku is it is a type of poem the for the first line it has 5 syllables then the second line has 7 then the third has 5.

Samoan umu

Today we watched a video about umu a samoan type of hungi. now i have to answer some questions.

what is umu? an umu is the samoan type of hungi but they don't dig in the ground.

what does it need? it needs rocks dried coconut shells bananas banana leaves.

what is it for? it is for a special event like a birthday a wedding a graduation or a funeral.

how are traditional samoan skills taught? from looking at people doing it and figuring it out  how to do it.

Is there something you've experienced similar to an umu? yes i have.

what was it? it was a hungi

where did you experience it? it was at my primary school south hornby school.

what types of things are cooked in an umu? fish, bananas, taro.
 

Sadako

Today i have to answer some questions about Sadako.

Who is the girl in the video?  the girl in the video is Sadako
Where is she? she is in heaven looking over the people he loves.
Why do you think she is there? she is there because she died from a bomb that gave her leukemia and later died from it.
How did she get there? because of the answer that i said just before.
How does she feel? she feels ad because he is lonely.
What is a paper crane and what does it represent? 1000 folded cranes means you can make a wish so i think she wished she could get her family to wish for her to come back.

Today I had to answer some questions about a story about a type of eel.

What problem did tuna o Runga i Te raki have? There was no water.

What does tipua mean? tipua means super natural
What is a hinaki? hinaki is a eel pot (a group of eels).

What type of animal is tuna? a tuna is the Mari name for eel.

What is different about the art in the book to the art on the video clip? the video clip was sketched and the book was colored in and more notice able.

What art style do you prefer? I prefer the sketched because I like how it looks like what it should look like.

level 2 dlo (covid 19)
