There is one time that Maori culture is celebrated and it isn't a public holiday! Well now it is but before the government changed it matariki was just a story that had been told in school. The Maori people couldn't celebrate it because they would of had to work but no they can go out to see the stars of matariki have a hungi and then relax for the day. that is why matariki should be a public holiday

week 8 do now
topic: English is the most important subject to learn in school.
When you think of school you think of sitting in class looking at your English teacher thinking about what you are going to write. Well at least that is what I think. teachers will say that English is one of the most important subjects. trust me it is a good subject to know about but what about when you finish school like what do you want to do when you graduate. it really depends on what job you want to do like you want to be a writer then this will be important to you. or lets say you want to be a professional athlete then this subject will not be important to you. In my opinion it depends on what to want to do when you graduate.

Te whiti o Rongomai
kia ora a couple weeks ago we were doing our essay. We got to choose who to write about i chose to write about Te whiti o Rongomai. here is my essay please leave some feed back
Te whiti o Rongomai
Who do you think is an important leader? Research shows that Te Whiti o Rongomai is one of the most important leaders this is what research shows. Even though people had come to his land to take it away from him Te whiti retaliated in a nonviolent way by cooperating with John Bryce he was the leader of the parihaka invasion. Well he thought that violence is not going to solve anything so he decided to cooperate with John Bryce. people may think what type of leader would let his people get hurt and taken away from their homes and put in jail. Despite that none of the tribal members wouldn’t fight.
after all of the nonsense no one died. However Te whiti sadly later on passed away on the 18 of November 1830. His tribal members have continued to observe monthly dusk to dusk Te Whitis days at Parihaka ever since.
Do now. Week 6
Topic: Your name is an important part of who you are.
Do you think that your name is important? Well I think that it is important to have a name. My first reason about why your name is important is that if you do not have a name then what are people gonna call you? Are the gonna call you child 495039404 or adult 39584030840. If you end up not liking your name you can always when you are older change your name to something else. This is why i think that having a name is important.

comprehension questions
kia ora today we had to do some questions on what we have read so far. please leave a comment.
When Greg meets the Chatterton's it makes him feel happy because they have cars and Greg likes cars. They make him happy because they give him food and Brad teaches Greg about cars. They offered him and job and they let him get into the rally car. When Greg tried to his mum she was happy but then when he went to go and talk to his dad he got angry. I can relate to Greg's problem because sometimes people start to get mad at there parents because they don't get there own way. It makes Greg upset because he wants to be like everyone else. I think William will stick up for Greg because they are good friends this is a good character because I think that everyone should have friends. She changes her mind because she thinks that he can be whatever he wants. I predict that the next part of the story is going to be about Greg driving a rally car.

the principal is the most important person in the school
here is what we had to today in English for our do now. We get 10 mins to write a paragraph
The principal is the most important person in the school. Do you agree? Well I do you know teachers have bosses so there is you normal teacher then there is a deputy principal which is the teachers boss and then there is a principal who is the big boss. If you did not have a principal then there would be not school. You may like that but if there is no more school then the students that want to do different stuff for jobs they won't be able to some of those people could want to be a doctor so then if there are no more of those then when people get sick there won't be help for them. the principal is the most important person at school

filtering
kia ora today we are doing a experiment we are filtering using liquids. Filtering is separating different sized particles out of a mixture. Can all mixtures be filtered? No only insoluble particles. We are going to be making a mixture then separate them. We are going to be using copper sulfate copper sulfate is light blue it is a liquid and it is transparent. We are also going to be using sodium carbonate this chemical is colorless and also is a liquid but this one is translucent. I think that when we filter them they will both be the same color but different chemicals.
Method:
1. Pour approximately 50mL of copper sulfate solution into a beaker.
2. Add the same volume of sodium carbonate solution. A reaction will happen, you should see a cloudy blue precipitate form. Called copper carbonate.
3. Watch demo then fold filter paper to fit inside the funnel
4. Place the funnel with the filter paper inside of it, into the mouth of a conical flask.
5. Stir the mixture in the beaker, then carefully pour it into the funnel.
6. Observe what happened.
When I put the chemicals together the went from being transparent and translucent to opaque then when it went through the filter paper it was clear. The two chemicals reacted together so the blue sludge at the top was copper carbonate and at the bottom there was sodium sulfate.
